Ortolan Bunting

The only recent records of this national scarce migrant are from 2018 when there were records from Sand Bay on August 24th and Northwick Warth on September 13th. 

There is an old record of one shot near Sidcot in 1860 which is mentioned in Palmer and Ballance (1968) (source given as Knight, F. A. (1902): The Seaboard of Mendip) but which was dismissed in Davis (1947).
